GREENSBORO, N.C.  The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has released its annual ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award list, with Methodist University's Monarchs baseball program earning a spot in the 2020-21 lineup.

In all, 580 collegiate and high school programs earned inclusion in 2020-21. NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and Junior College teams made up 380 of the programs on the registry, with the other 200 teams coming from the high school ranks.

Methodist is one of 116 D-III programs to earn the award, and together with Covenant (Ga.) College and Piedmont (Ga.) University, represent the USA South Athletic Conference within the listing.

To earn inclusion a team must produce a team grade-point average of at least 3.00 for the 2020-21 academic year.
