GREENSBORO, N.C.  The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has announced its 2024–2025 recipients for the organization's annual Team Academic Excellence Award presented by Sports Attack, recognizing the Methodist University baseball team as one of the NCAA Division III honorees.

This is the ninth consecutive season in which Methodist has received the award. This year, the Monarchs joined Brevard College and William Peace University as the only three institutions to represent the USA South Athletic Conference on the list.
 
To be honored, a team must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year, while the head coach must also be a member of the ABCA.
 
Methodist is one of 170 NCAA Division III schools to garner the academic recognition, while in total more than 700 college and high school programs across the country were honored with this year's Team Academic Excellence Award. Over 440 NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and Junior College teams received recognition, while roughly 300 high school programs also appeared on the list.

The Monarchs paired their academic success with an outstanding season on the diamond in 2025, winning 34 games as they claimed the USA South regular season title, won the USA South conference tournament championship and finished as runners up at the NCAA Regional in Ashland, Virginia.
