HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set was a continuous back-and-forth battle between Methodist and Guilford. Within the set, there were eight ties, as neither team could get more than a three-point lead. The Monarchs claimed the set by scoring the final four points, with Kendall Craig recording two kills in those four points.
- After the Quakers took an early 1-0 lead, Methodist rallied back, with a 5-0 run, to take over and never looked back. Guilford got as close as three points before the Monarchs had another 4-0 run to put the set out of reach.
- The Quakers were able to challenge Methodist to start the third set, as they were only down 6-5, in the first 11 points. A 5-0 run by the Monarchs changed that and they would not lose the lead the rest of the set.
