HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Methodist kept the lead for majority of the second quarter. Good lay-up from Evans gave the Monarchs their largest lead of the first half. After being down 38-34 with less than a minute to go in the half, Hicks knocks down two back-to-back jumpers, tying the game 38 all going into the second half.
  • The Pride leaked out five unanswered points early in the third quarter. A jumper by Aniyah Tate and a knock down three from Lynch tied the game back up 43 all with just under six minutes to go. Greensboro steadily took the lead after back-to-back threes from Lauren Livingston and Aliyah Whiteside helping the Pride to their largest lead of the game, making it 57-45 before heading into the final ten minutes.
  • After starting the fourth quarter down by eleven, Methodist went to the free throw line multiple times to get some easy points with the clock stopped. Tate going 4-4 from the line and Taborn adding a pair with just under four minutes.
