HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist went into halftime with a 1-0 lead following a goal by Rianna Orello in the 20th minute of the match. After beating a defender, she sent a shot past the outreach arms of the goalie to hit the back corner of the net.
- The Monarchs doubled their score off a Natalia Marshall-Hewitt goal in the 56th minute. Orello passed it off to Marshall-Hewitt, who was standing five feet from the net, for the one timer.
- Just like the other two scores, Orello would be involved in Methodist's third goal. From just outside the 18-yard box, she shot the ball toward the net and a misread by the keeper gave Orello her second goal of the contest.
- In the 86th minute, the Pride prevented the shutout with their lone goal from Cassidy Olszewski. Julia Howland had a great thru pass to Olszewski, who took a shot from 12-yards out to get the ball just over the goalie's head.
