HOW IT HAPPENED

The teams would then go on to trade points with neither side having more than a two point advantage. The turning point of this set came when the Monarchs were down 19-18 and they scored the next six points to go up 24-19, which eventually led to Methodist taking the game.
- Game two saw the Monarchs jump out 10-4 on the scoreboard. Methodist increased the deficit to eight with the score now 20-12. The Panthers would cut the difference in half to find themselves down 20-16, but that was the closest Ferrum got to the Monarchs lead before falling 25-21 and going down 2-0 in the match.
- Methodist looked in command during the third set with a 10-5 advantage. The Panthers though did not go away and midway through the game took a 16-15 lead. After going down by a couple points again, Ferrum rallied with a big 5-1 run at the end to win 25-22.
- Set four witnessed the Monarchs going up 6-2 before a timeout by the Panthers. That timeout proved vital for Ferrum as the team would slowly chip away at the lead to get it to a 16-15 score, in favor of Methodist. A key 4-2 run gave the Panthers a 19-18 lead before winning the set and tying the match at two games apiece.
- During the final set, Ferrum had to call a timeout following the Monarchs getting out to a 4-0 lead. The Panther eventually knotted the score up at 8-8 at the halfway mark of this crucial game.
