HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set of the match was a seesaw battle between these two teams. Just when it looked like one team gain momentum the other side came right back to stop it. This led to neither squad having more than a three-point advantage the entire time. The set came down to the wire as Methodist was able to prevail by scoring the final three points.
- Set number two did not favor the Monarchs as Greensboro started off by scoring the first seven points. The Pride quickly ballooned that lead to a 14-2 difference as Greensboro ran away with this game to even the sets at 1-1.
- In game number three, Methodist was keeping it close early but a 6-1 run by the Pride put them up 15-8. The Monarchs though scored seven of the next eight points to get them back to a one-point deficit, 16-15. A three-point swing by Greensboro right after Methodist clawed their way back was enough to keep the Pride in front, and go up two sets to one.
- With game number four tied 9-9, Greensboro registered the next four points to go up 13-9. The Pride would make it a seven-point difference, 23-16, off a 4-0 run. Soon after, the Monarchs tallied their own four straight points to get them back within three, and they even got it down to a two-point deficit 24-22. Alas, Greensboro clinched the match victory by scoring the next point.
