Records: Methodist 0-4, Ferrum 2-2

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist and Ferrum looked evenly matched for nearly the first six minutes of the ball game. Johnny Franklin of the Panthers shifted the momentum toward his team by scoring five of the next seven Ferrum points to take a 16-10 advantage.
- The Monarchs made it a one possession contest after Montell Moore nailed a three. Following some tradeoffs of buckets by the teams, the Panthers went on a 6-0 run to go up 27-18. Methodist finished the first half strong by scoring eight consecutive points to only be down by one, 31-30, with Derrion Hicklen tallying half of them.
- Ferrum registered the first five points just under a minute into the second half to extend their lead to 36-30. A steal and fastbreak layup by Brone Brinson kepted the Monarchs within a two possession game but after that the Panthers got hot from the field.
- A 9-0 run by Ferrum eventually enlarged the lead to over 20 points. Clayton Coe did his best to try to spark Methodist offense by knocking down a pair of three-pointers but another good run by the Panthers would put this game well out of hand.
