FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist baseball has another offensive showing on Saturday afternoon against Arcadia University, as the Monarchs beat the Knights 14-8 in a non-conference game, in the Diamond Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist got to Arcadia's starter early as the team scored 5 runs in the first inning, which includes Gavin Wheeler driving in two runs.
- The Knights would keep the game tight from that point on as they scored three runs to make it 6-3 heading into the bottom half of the sixth.
- Than the Monarch put the game out reach by putting up another five spot, in an inning that saw Rob Wilkerson and Wesley Hall hit back-to-back doubles for three of the runs.
- Arcadia scored two more runs in both the seventh and eighth innings to round out their scoring output for the game.
STAT FACTS
- Four different Monarchs finished the game with two or more runs batted in.
- Charles Jordan had a good day at the plate by going 3 for 3 and drawing two walks to reach base all five times he went up.
- Making his collegiate debut was freshman Jarrett Hall. He threw 1.1 innings giving up no hits and striking out one batter.
- Both sides were working the counts today as a total 19 walks were issued, Methodist (9) & Arcadia (10).
