DEMOREST, Ga. Methodist's men's tennis team starts out in the right direction with a 7-2 non-conference win over Piedmont University on Saturday morning on the Burgen Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Monarchs started off by sweeping all three doubles matches, where Luke Laney and Henry Murray were the only duo to not give up more than two sets.
- Jordan Theron had a strong showing in the number 1's single match as he won 6-1 & 6-0 against Alberto Nunez
- Laney, Murray, and Quinn McNamara all won their respective flights to give Methodist their seven points.
- After dropping his first set, AJ Rogers challenged Houston Medlock in the second set by getting it to 6-6 before falling in the tie breaker 7-5. Patrick Dempsey defeated Spencer Kieft in two sets for the other Lion point.

Methodist is off until Friday, February 25, when they visit the Panthers of Ferrum College at 3 p.m.
