FERRUM, Va. Methodist women's lacrosse secured a one goal win over non-conference opponent Ferrum College on Friday afternoon, 13-12.
Julee Delellis scored the game winning goal for the Monarchs in the final six minutes of play, with an assist from
Payton Jones.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After no scoring in the first five minutes of the game, the Monarchs knocked in the first goal of the game when Kayla Nee dished Rosa Williams the ball to snap it to the back of the net. Within the next two minutes, the Panthers matched Methodist, scoring their first goal from a free position shot.
- The second quarter began with the Monarchs ahead 2-1 but it did not take long for Ferrum to tie it at two after winning the draw control from the jump and scoring within 30 seconds. The Panthers knocked in a final second shot to tie the game 6-6 before the start of the second half.
- Ferrum took their first lead of the game after the break to go up by one goal but in the next play, Ainsley McGinn won the draw control to give Methodist the possession and tie the game again with a shot by Mikayla Ramos. Both teams rallied back and forth, trading goals with each other before closing out the third 10-9 Monarchs.
- The Panthers trailed for the remainder of the game and went down by two goals with five minutes left in play. Methodist held the Panthers to only one more goal before the horn, securing the win 13-12.

- Jem Golombeski tallied six saves as she faced a total of 20 shots, with 18 being on goal.
- Both Williams and Ramos each had four goals on the day. Keegan Foyles was the only other Methodist player with a multigoal game.
- Methodist took 37 shots for the day to Ferrum's 20, 27 of which were on goal to the Panthers' 18.
- The Monarchs won in draw controls, finishing the day with 17 won possessions to Ferrum's 12.
- The Panthers got the slight edge over the Monarchs in free position shots nine to seven, but Methodist capitalized on those shots by scoring three goals off them.
