MONTGOMERY, Ala. Methodist women's lacrosse began USA South Athletic Conference play with a decisive 15-7 victory over Huntingdon College on Saturday afternoon at Samford Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first goal of the game was by Payton Jones with an assist by Rosa Williams. Methodist would net two more scores, including one from Erika Henry for her first collegiate goal, before the Hawks put one in net to make it 3-1 at the end of the quarter.
- Less than two minutes into the second frame, Huntingdon scored twice to tie the contest at 3-3. A minute after the Hawks tied the game, Alaijah Ward found an open Julee Delellis to put the Monarchs back in front, 4-3, and from that point on the Monarchs would never relinquish the lead.
- Methodist went on to score three consecutive goals, with Kayla Nee netting two of them in a 50 second span. Huntingdon managed to add one more goal to make it a three goal deficit for the Hawks, 7-4.
- The Monarchs had dominate performance in the third period by netting five unanswered goals to reach double digits, 12-4. Methodist's offensive was not the only part of the Monarchs that was brilliant but their defense was on point by allowing just two Huntingdon shot the entire 15 minutes.
- The Hawks troubles did not end there as Jones of the Monarchs would win the opening draw control, of the fourth, and pass it off to Williams for the sixth straight goal. The rest of the stanza witnessed Huntingdon adding on three more scores while Methodist connected on two more goals.
MORE TO IT
- Five different Monarchs had a multi-goal game with Nee, Ward, & Williams also assisting twice.
- There was a significant shot difference between the Hawks and Methodist. Huntingdon registered 26 shots while the Monarchs shot the ball 46 times.
- Both teams were perfect in their clear attempt for the game as the Hawks cleared all 16 chances and Methodist went 24 for 24.
