FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist's baseball got a quality starter from senior
Ryan Hill, as the Monarchs blanked DeSales University 5-0 on Saturday afternoon on Day 2 of the Armstrong Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hill had his best performance of the young season by going seven innings, giving up four hits and striking out seven Bulldogs. Classmate William St. Leger came in relief, where he pitched the eighth and ninth allowing one hit, two walks, and recording four strikeouts.
- The only necessary runs Methodist needed came during the bottom half of the fifth. Gavin Wheeler pulled the ball over the left fielder's head for a two runs batted in double.
- The Monarchs would tack on three more runs in the eighth. With bases loaded, Rob Wilkerson, Wesley Hall, and Justin Blunt each drove in one RBI.
MORE STATS
- This is Methodist's first time shutting out the Bulldogs and now lead the all-time record 3-1.
- Jacob Austin and Spencer Nelson were the only two Monarchs record a multi-hit day. Billy Scanlon of DeSales also had a two hit performance.
