- The Monarchs would go ice cold from the field for the next six minutes, while Greensboro used that to their advantage to reclaim some of those points back, 18-12. Brone Brinson was able to end Methodist scoring drought on a layup, 20-12, with four minutes to go in the period but in that remaining time the Pride outscored the Monarchs 12-6. Giving Methodist a slight 26-24 halftime lead.

- The Pride tied the score a couple of times before taking over 39-37 but then Jeremy Mull of Methodist knocked down a three-pointer to put his team back on top. Greensboro followed that up by draining threes on three of their next four made buckets to go up 50-40.
- In the final eight minutes of the second half, the Monarchs fought back twice to keep the score close. The first time was when once again McLaughlin Jr. made seven consecutive points to close the gap to five ,52-47, before the Pride brought the deficit back up to 13. The second time came with 12 seconds left on clock when Tomas Stevens hit a three to make it 69-66 but that would be best Methodist got to the lead.
