HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Only two double flights were played in the Pride match, as Greensboro did not have enough players. The teams of Jill Lawrence & Megan Kidd and Allyson Hays & Milana Lewis took down their opponents by 8-0 scores.
  • Lawrence, Kidd, and Sydney Bird all won their respective single matches by identical scores of 6-0, 6-0. The only points the Pride scored was in No.1 singles, with Jada Ore losing to the Monarchs' Alex Pratt 6-2, 6-1. Methodist got the sweep due winning to single flights by default.
  • In the Belmont Abbey match, the Crusaders were up 1-0 after taking two of three doubles matches. The one doubles flight that the Monarchs got was from the pair of Abby Caddick & Kamdyn Balko, as they defeated Daniella Galeano & Paola Socarras 7-5.
  • Caddick would her doubles momentum into her singles flight by beating Carlie Davis 6-1, 6-2. Getting some of her own revenge was Valeria Matute in No.3 singles, after losing to Hannah Farmer earlier. Matute took the first set 6-4 before falling 7-5 in the second set, which forced a super tiebreaker and Matute was victorious 6-3.
  • The final win of the day came from Toni Laney by set scores of 6-4 & 7-5 over Galeano. Andi Billingsley won No.6 singles by scores of 6-3 & 6-4 against Hannah Higgins.
  • Both Luciana Forma and Veva Willocks, of Methodist, flights went to a third set where unfortunately each of them would fall.
