FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist baseball faced off against the No. 26 ranked (ABCA /Collegiate baseball Poll) Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday afternoon in a mid-week non-conference game and after a struggling nine innings for the Monarchs, the Yellow Jackets won 18-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Randolph-Macon got off to a quick start at the plate, dropping hits in the gaps to score two runs in the first inning.
- It was no different in the second inning as the Yellow Jackets stung the Monarchs with five hits and six runs, extending the lead significantly to 8-0.
- Methodist could not buy a hit off Randolph-Macon's pitcher, Cam Furman through the first three innings and finally registered two back-to-back hits in the bottom of the fourth. Both hits were singles up the middle from Gavin Wheeler and Spencer Nelson.
- The Yellow Jackets scored in the third, fourth and sixth innings to go up 12-0 before the Monarchs tallied their first run on the board.
- Caleb Greene singled up the middle to get on in the bottom of the sixth. His hit was followed by another shot from Wheeler to left field to advance Greene to second. Nelson hit a pop fly to center field which allowed Greene to advance to third. With Greene in scoring position, Wesley Hall hit a sacrifice fly to center field to send Greene home.
- Stancil Bowles contributed to Methodist's second run with another hit up the middle.
- Randolph-Macon went on to score six more runs to the Monarchs' one in the eighth inning.

- Randolph-Macon out hit Methodist 21 to nine with three of the Yellow Jackets hits being home runs.
- The Monarchs were charged three errors for the game, two of which contributed to unearned runs for Randolph-Macon.
