HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist opened the Game 1 of the day with a solid first inning at the plate. After the Monarchs leadoff batter, Bethany Junker, was walked the bats came alive by converting four hits into four runs.
- The first run came from a double to left field by Haven Williams to score Junker. The second run came from the cleanup batter, Haley Fethke, followed by a single to third base from Madison Sanchez to score the third run. Heather Tsapp poked one in the gap to score Methodist's fourth run.
- Through the rest of the game, the Monarchs only tallied three more hits to the Scots 12, but Covenant only registered three runs. The Scots first run came in the top of the fifth inning off a home run over the left-field fence.
- Covenant tagged two more runs in the top of the seventh in a comeback rally attempt. With runners on first and second and two outs, Sanchez caught the fly out to center field for the final out of the game.
- Game 2 of the day for Methodist was a pitcher's duel in the circle between Alyssa Barwick and Kassie Simmons of the Pride. Each hauler was so effective that this game would have to head to extra innings to be decided.
- The Monarchs would go on to win the contest in the bottom of the ninth. After loading the bases on back-to-back walks, Rebekah Haigler came up to the plate and was able to send the ball out into the outfield enough for a walk-off sacrifice fly.

- In Game 1, seven Monarchs registered one hit each with Williams gaining the only stand-up double, while the Scots', Vanessa Davis led the game with four.
