FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. The visiting Avenging Angels of Meredith College prevailed over Methodist, 20-2, at Monarch Stadium on Wednesday evening, stealing a USA South conference win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Meredith scored in the opening two minutes and never looked back, as the Avenging Angels scored six goals in the first 10 minutes.
- Rosa Williams gave the Monarchs' their first score late in the first quarter, followed by her second goal seconds before the horn. Keegan Foyles contributed to the second goal as she saw Williams beat her defender down the middle for an open shot.
- Methodist kept the game in reach in the second quarter, as the team cut the game to three after a goal from Erika Henry off a free position shot. The Avenging Angels closed the first half with a last second goal to go up 12-4.
- The Monarchs battled through the third quarter, but Meredith's strong offense pushed their lead to 18-8, causing the game to go into a 10-goal running clock through the fourth.
STAT FACTS
- Jem Golombeski earned 13 saves in the net to tally her 200th save of her career, becoming the second Monarch in program history to do so.
- Meredith out shot Methodist, 44-16, as 37 of the 44 were on goal, to the Monarchs 12.
- Of the 14 Methodist draw control wins, Tia Marlinghaus had four and Ainsley McGinn and Mikayla Ramos each had three.
- Williams led the team with three goals, as she went three-for-five for the game.
