FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist's men's tennis dropped a non-conference match to the visiting Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan University, but narrowly by a score of 4-5 on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Monarchs started off 2-1 in the doubles matches. The number one doubles, Jordan Theron and Quinn McNamara, along with No. 3 doubles Harrison Bitzberger and AJ Rogers took care of business in their matches, winning 8-3 and 8-4 respectively.
- The No. 2 doubles, Luke Laney and Henry Murray posed a strong fight against opponents, Timothy Tep and Camden Perry resulting in a tiebreaker, where the team fell short of the win, 8-7.
- As for the singles matches, only Theron and McNamara were able to come away with a win as Theron defeated Felix Bevc at the No. 1 spot, 6-1, 6-2 and McNamara took a 6-3, 6-4 win at the No.3.
