Terranova Earns 200th Career Win After the 3-0 Victory Over Warren Wilson

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.  Methodist men's soccer dominated on the field on Saturday evening with a 3-0 victory over Warren Wilson College. The victory gave head coach, Justin Terranova his 200th career win in his 20th year at the helm.

Another highlight of the game was the second and third goals of the night, scored by freshman Harrison Broome in the 28th minute of play and Wesley Gleeson in the 80th minute of play to earn their first collegiate goals.

JUST THE FACTS
Final score: Methodist def. Warren Wilson, 3-0
Records: Methodist 3-1-2, Warren Wilson 1-4-1
Location: Duggins Soccer Stadium; Fayetteville, North Carolina

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • At the 26-minute mark, Hudson Ziesman took a turn around shot in the box which was blocked by a Warren Wilson defender.  The ball then bounced into the feet Kether Fouana-Seth where he dribbled left to take a shot off his left foot and score the Monarchs first goal of the evening.
  • Less than two minutes later, a bad pass made by the Owls landed in the presence of Broome who capitalized on it by taking a few dribbles down the middle and knocking in a shot past the goalie in the bottom right corner of the goal.
  • Late in the game, Kaleb Thomas made moves down the left side of the field, creating enough space to cross the ball into the middle. Luckily, Gleeson was in the right place at the right time for a dump in on the backside off the cross to score the Monarchs third goal.
NUMBERS
  • Methodist absolutely dominated on offense, taking 21 shots to the Owls' zero.
  • The Monarch goalie, Matthew Walker saw no action in net while Warren Wilson's goal collected five saves.
