Kobe Praylow,
Isiah McMullens and
Madison Rizer have earned recognition from the USA South Athletic Conference, which released its (Sept. 19-25) student-athlete of the week honors Monday afternoon.
Praylow was tabbed the Football Offensive Player of the Week, McMullens earned Football Defensive Rookie of the Week and from women's soccer, Rizer was named the Player of the Week.
In the Monarchs' 38-28 win over LaGrange College on Saturday afternoon, Praylow, the senior wide receiver broke the program's single-game record for receiving yards with 230. He caught 11 passes throughout the four quarters, with two of them being touchdowns for 56 and 73 yards. His 73-yard catch was his longest reception thus far in the 2022 season. Praylow also ran the ball three times for a total 14 yards.
On the defensive end for MU, McMullens, the sophomore linebacker, in his first collegiate year of football, totaled seven tackles, including one for a loss. Adding to his stats for the day were six solo tackles and one pass breakup.
In women's soccer's lone contest last week, Rizer scored the game winning goal to put the Monarchs ahead in the 1-0 win over Southern Virginia University. The goal came in the 40
th minute of action after a rebound from an initial shot taken by teammate
Corrine Shovlain. This was Rizer's first game winning goal of her career.
