HOW IT HAPPENED

- It would take eight minutes into the second half, but Charlie Teachey was able to score the first goal of the game in the 53rd minute. Teachey was able to take control of the ball from about 25 yards out before turning and sent a long shot into the upper left corner of the net.
- The Owls responded back with the equalizer in the 68th minute of the match. Brady Holmes passed the ball off to his teammate Remar Shirley, where Shirley was able to punch it in the lower left side of Methodist's keeper.
- After that it would stay 1-1 until all 90 minutes were completed. There was no overtime due to a new National Collegiate Athletic Association rule that eliminated overtime during the regular season.
