Kelsey Burge scored the only goal for the Monarchs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist faced pressure early, as goalkeeper Carolina Simpkins was forced into action within the first minute, making a save on the first shot of the game and a second save at the 5' mark. She made six saves in the first 30 minutes, while Meredith's keeper made three.
- In the 30th minute, junior Kelsey Burge collected the first score of the contest to give the Monarchs a 1-0 lead. The teams traded one more save each prior to halftime.
- Methodist opened the second half with the first two shots on goal of the period, both of which were saved. The Avenging Angels attempted a shot just past the 51' mark that was saved by Simpkins, before a second shot slipped by her for a score, tying the match, 1-1. The Monarchs had other opportunities but were unable to reclaim a lead.
NUMBERS
- Sophomore goalkeeper Carolina Simpkins totaled a career-high 11 saves in the match. She conceded just her fourth goal of the season.
- Kelsey Burge continues her hot streak, now having scored four times in the last five matches.
- The Monarchs were denied any corner kick opportunities, while Meredith earned five.
