ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. Methodist University women's soccer was on the road Saturday afternoon in another USA South Athletic Conference matchup with North Carolina Wesleyan University. The Monarchs won the contest with ease as they handed the Battling Bishops a 5-0 loss on their Senior Day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- For the fifth time in the past six games, Kelsey Burge recorded a goal for Methodist. In the 15th minute, N.C. Wesleyan's goalie challenged Yaneli Sanchez on the outside, but Sanchez was able to get the ball pass her and a charging Burge finished off the play.
- After assisting on the first goal, Sanchez registered the next two goals for the Monarchs in the first half. Her first one came off a 20-yard free kick that went over the hand of the out stretched Battling Bishop keeper, 37th minute. Four minutes later, Sanchez found the back of the net again after receiving a cross.
- Corrine Shovlain got the scoring going for Methodist in the second half, 63rd minute. Sanchez had the ball on the outside and was able to draw three N.C. Wesleyan defender toward her before dishing the ball off to Shovlain, who was one-v-one with the goalie.
- Sanchez would cap off her day with her second career hat trick in the 66th minute.

- Sanchez finished with a season-high eight points after recording three goals and two assists.
- Including this contest, the Monarchs have shutout their opponents in nine of their ten wins.
- Methodist extends its winning streak over N.C. Wesleyan to 22 consecutive games.
