FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. The Methodist men's basketball team faced a Pfeiffer squad seeking vengeance on Wednesday night. The Monarchs had six players score in double figures, but the Falcons claimed an 86-76 win in the March F. Riddle Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pfeiffer struck first with a layup, quickly answered by T.J. East, who slammed the ball in for two. The Falcons drained a three on the ensuing possession, but the Monarchs returned fire with back-to-back layups to snag a 6-5 advantage. Over the next six minutes, Pfeiffer was the beneficiary of 15 unanswered points.
- Methodist rattled off an 8-0 run of its own to pull within six, but the Falcons responded with another scoring streak – this time seven points in their favor. Down 27-14, Brone Brinson scored a two-point basket on four-straight Methodist possessions, pulling the Monarchs to within nine points of the Falcons on his fourth make. Pfeiffer's lead reached 18 points before the team took a 42-28 advantage into halftime.
- Brian Bullock scored the first seven points of the second half for the Monarchs, sinking two layups and a triple. Pfeiffer outscored Methodist 16-4 between the 16:30 and 11:30 marks, drilling four shots from behind the arc during that time span.
- Down by 24, Methodist pieced together a 19-6 scoring run, capped off with three-pointers by De'Shaun Kee and Montell Moore. Trailing 71-60, the Monarchs were unable to continue closing the gap as the Falcons recorded 11 of the next 15 points scored and boosted their lead to 18 once again. Moore, Brinson and Derrion Hicklen all scored four points each during the final four minutes to reduce Methodist's final deficit to ten points.

- T.J. East led all Methodist scorers with 15 points, while Brinson, Moore, Bullock, Hicklen and Kee all also recorded double-digits in scoring.
- The Falcons shot 5-for-10 from three-point range in the first half, largely contributing to their 14-point halftime lead.
- The Monarchs were out-rebounded 23-10 during the first half and 35-27 across the entire contest.
