HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game 1 saw Methodist strike first as the Monarchs scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning and four more runs in the third inning. Wesley Hall's single down the left field line in the second inning brought two runs home.
- Methodist allowed Alma to score one run – a homer – in the fourth before the Monarchs scored their ninth run of the ballgame in the fifth inning. Two more solo homeruns for the Scots in the sixth were answered by Jacob Austin's solo shot in the bottom of the inning, which proved to be the last run of the contest.
- In Game 2, Alma claimed an early advantage with three runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. However, the Monarchs quickly returned fire, scoring three runs of their own in the bottom of the inning with back-to-back-to-back RBI singles by Jackson Deal, Austin and Hall.
- Methodist put three more on the board in the third inning, with two of those runs scoring thanks to a triple by Deal. The Scots scored two more runs in the fourth, but it was all Monarchs from there.
- The Monarchs batted all the way through their lineup in the fifth inning, producing seven runs on four hits as well as several pitching miscues by the Scots. A homer by Deal in the sixth added one last run for good measure.
