GREENSBORO, N.C. Methodist women's tennis got its first win of the spring season on the road at Guilford College, on Wednesday afternoon. The Monarchs swept, 8-0, the Quakers on their home turf, the McMichael Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist started off with clean sheets in doubles action, as Guilford did not win a game in any of the three flights.
- During singles play, Milana Lewis was the only Monarch to sweep her counterpart, Yasmine Elabdellaoui, in two consecutive sets.
- Singles flight number four saw Hannah Higgins face off with Nye Reed, from the Quakers. Higgins won 6-3, 6-2 to claim another victory for the Monarchs. Methodist would go up 6-0 in the team score following Erin Mines defeating Jolie Nhouyvanisvong 6-4,7-5 in No. 3 singles.
- Both Luciana Forma and Kamdyn Balko had to go three sets each before pulling out the win. Guilford matched up Hannah Pardue with Forma in flight one. Forma took the first set by a 6-4 score before falling 2-6 in set two. This forced a super tiebreaker in which Forma prevailed, 10-7.
- The flight between Balko and Ashley Belnap was fairly close in all three sets. Set one witnessed Balko taking the lead following a 7-5 score but Belnap would even it up with a 6-4 set win. In the super tiebreaker, Balko came out victorious after beating Belnap 10-7.
