FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. The Methodist men's tennis team faced Guilford College on Sunday, winning three of nine matches. The Monarchs took one doubles match and two singles matches over the Quakers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wills Belser and Cameron Roth claimed a win for the Monarchs in the doubles round, narrowly defeating the number two Guilford duo 8-7. Andrew Wood and Matthew Hurley were beaten in the top match 8-5, while Evan Kane and Will Trocchi also played to an 8-5 loss in the number three doubles spot.
- Belser earned a win in his singles match as the number two player for Methodist, knocking out his opponent with set victories of 6-2 and 6-1.
- Hurley, in the top spot, earned Methodist's other victory in the singles matches, claiming his first set 6-4 before winning by opponent retirement.
