MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. The Methodist University baseball team was ranked No. 20 in the latest D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 poll, falling two spots from its previous ranking of 18.
The Week 5 poll, released on Tuesday morning, factors in results through Sunday, March 26. For the Monarchs, this included an 8-1 loss at Randolph-Macon on Tuesday followed by a 5-1 win over Greensboro on Saturday. With a 16-4 record at the time of assessment, Methodist garnered 154 total points, placing them one spot behind Marietta (166 points).
The top five teams in the latest poll are Birmingham-Southern (624 points, 24 first-place votes), Salisbury (587, 1 first-place vote), Shenandoah (571), Eastern Connecticut (507) and Baldwin Wallace (494).
After suffering a 12-3 loss versus Greensboro on Monday, Methodist is back in action on Tuesday evening, hosting Williams College at 6 p.m.
