RALEIGH, N.C. Methodist University women's tennis team traveled to Meredith College on Wednesday afternoon for a USA South Athletic Conference match. The Monarchs would blank the Avenging Angels 9-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist claimed all three doubles matches, including two by scores of 8-0, to take a 3-0 advantage.
- Veva Willocks made it 4-0 for the Monarchs after she defeated Meredith own Jovi Britto in No. 6 singles by identical set scores of 6-1. The match victory was sealed, when the Monarchs took a 5-0 lead, following Valeria Matutes 6-0, 6-1 win on court three versus Sophie Phillips of the Avenging Angels.
- Both Cailin Cifra and Megan Kidd of Methodist took down their counterparts by scores of 6-0, 6-2.
- Winning in straight-set fashion, Toni Laney and Luciana Forma finished off the sweep for the Monarchs with scores of 6-1, 6-0.
UP NEXT
Methodist heads back to Fayetteville for a home match against Greensboro College on Saturday, in another conference showdown. The match is set to begin at 12 p.m.
