CHARLOTTE, N.C. Methodist University men's tennis was on the road Wednesday afternoon to play Johnson & Wales University (N.C.) for a non-conference contest. The Monarchs picked up an easy victory as they swept, 9-0, the Wildcats at Tuckaseegee Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Methodist duo of Matthew Hurley & Willis Belser won their doubles flight, No. 1s, by a score of 8-0 against Johnathan Millwood & Sam Ciciarello of JWU. Evan Kane & Will Trocchi, on court three, were another pair of Monarchs that took their doubles match with an 8-0 score over Devonte Hill & Wilder Noyes of the Wildcats.
- Methodist finished off its 3-0 lead following the victory of Cameron Roth & Andrew Wood, 8-3, in No. 2 doubles. They defeated JWU's own Samuel Wilder & Dylan Hight.
- It was a clean sweep for the Monarchs Trocchi on court five, in single action, as he went 6-0, 6-0 against the Wildcats Hill. Sealing the match, 5-0, for Methodist was Wood with his 6-1, 6-0 win over Ciciarello in No. 3 singles.
- Belser and Kane each claimed 6-1, 6-1 wins for the Monarchs in their respective flights. On court two, Belser defeated Wilder of JWU while Kane (MU) upended Noyes (JWU) in No. 6 singles.
- No. 1 singles witnessed Hurley of Methodist facing off against Millwood of the Wildcats -- Hurley won in straight-set fashion 6-1, 6-2. The closest flight of the match came on court four, in which Roth (MU) won 7-5, 6-4 over Hight (JWU).
