HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It took Corrine Shovlain all of 55 seconds to find the back of the net for the first score of the match. Methodist produced a second goal in the 5th minute, taking a 2-0 lead.
  • Sophomore Camaryn Piper was next to score, punching in her first goal of the season and second of her career. A goal by freshman Yaneli Sanchez pushed the score to 4-0 before junior transfer Emma Pedraza recorded her first goal in the Green and Gold, making in a 5-0 difference at halftime.
  • Playing in just her second match of the season, Rianna Orello was first to score in the second half, tallying her first score of 2023. Goal number seven was scored by senior Emily Porto – her first-ever goal for the Monarchs.
  • Continuing the theme of first-time goal scorers, freshmen Allye Carter and Emily Hoyt joined the action to make the score 9-0.
  • Bumping the Monarchs into the double-digits just before time expired, Madison Hoopes clinched the tenth and final score of the contest.
NUMBERS
  • The Monarchs took a total of 45 shots with 28 on goal, while holding the Owls to zero shots taken throughout the entire match.
