HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It only took four plays for Huntingdon to score a touchdown on its opening possession. Quarterback Carson Daniel complete all three of his first passes for 64 yards, including the 26-yard strike to Tyler England for the score. The point after touchdown by Will Edwards was successful to make it 7-0.
  • Near the end of the first quarter, Methodist was able to establish a drive where the offense was able to move the ball. Following a first down, running back Sajari Love got the Monarchs into Hawks territory with his 27-yard run. Then quarterback Brandon Bullins connected with Wade Thomas III on a 31-yard touchdown, on the first play of the second quarter. Samuel Andrae tied the game at 7-7 with good PAT.

  • A three-and-out by Methodist on its ensuing possession forced a punt. On the 49 yard return for Huntingdon, England almost took it to the house before being pushed out of bounds at the Monarch one-yard line. The next play saw Troy Garner running the ball into the end zone for the Hawks.
  • A 31-yard field goal by Edwards and a deep 51-yard pass from Daniel to England gave Huntingdon a 31-7 advantage heading into halftime.
