MONTGOMERY, Ala. Methodist University football traveled down to Huntingdon College on Saturday afternoon in a USA South Athletic Conference contest. The Monarchs kept the game close for the first 20 minutes before the Hawks opened up the scoring and picked up a 52-7 victory inside Sanford Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It only took four plays for Huntingdon to score a touchdown on its opening possession. Quarterback Carson Daniel complete all three of his first passes for 64 yards, including the 26-yard strike to Tyler England for the score. The point after touchdown by Will Edwards was successful to make it 7-0.
- Near the end of the first quarter, Methodist was able to establish a drive where the offense was able to move the ball. Following a first down, running back Sajari Love got the Monarchs into Hawks territory with his 27-yard run. Then quarterback Brandon Bullins connected with Wade Thomas III on a 31-yard touchdown, on the first play of the second quarter. Samuel Andrae tied the game at 7-7 with good PAT.
- Huntingdon regained its lead again on the very next possession. A not so great kickoff had the Hawks starting this drive on their own 34-yard line. In six plays, covering 66 yards, Daniel completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Conner Bradford. The scoreboard read 14-7 after Edwards made PAT.
- A three-and-out by Methodist on its ensuing possession forced a punt. On the 49 yard return for Huntingdon, England almost took it to the house before being pushed out of bounds at the Monarch one-yard line. The next play saw Troy Garner running the ball into the end zone for the Hawks.
- A 31-yard field goal by Edwards and a deep 51-yard pass from Daniel to England gave Huntingdon a 31-7 advantage heading into halftime.
- The second half did not fare better for Methodist offense while the Hawks were able to add 21 more points to their total.
- The only points of the third quarter was on a 14 yard touchdown run by Daniels. In the fourth, Huntingdon scored two more touchdowns with one being a on a five-yard run by James Cheatham and the other being a 38-yard interception return by Denzel Greene.
MORE TO IT
- The Hawks accumulated more yards than the Monarchs, 469 to 192.
- Senior Josh Hill led Methodist defense with 14 tackles, nine of which were solo.
