HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half favored Methodist as the team took ten shots, seven on target while holding William Peace to just one shot.
- The Monarchs carried that momentum into the second half, and they were able to break the scoreless deadlock in the 59th minute. Sophomore Garrett Panos snuck the ball into the bottom right corner of the net after receiving a pass from fellow sophomore Carson Stretz.
- The lead was short-lived, as the Pacers scored their first goal less than two minutes later. On a William Peace corner kick, Methodist goalie Matthew Walker came out of the net in an attempt to secure the ball. Unable to do so, this left an open net for Gavin Beaupre of the Pacers, and he took advantage with his one-timer.
- In the 70th minute, a failed clear by the Monarch's defense allowed William Peace's Ausar Omwenga to get control of the ball and hit it into the top left corner to take the lead.
NUMBERS
- The Pacers only had two of their eight shots be on target throughout the contest, which resulted in scores. Methodist had nine of its 13 shots reach the net.
- Seven different Monarchs registered a shot, with at least one being on goal, including Atwell, who led the team with three shots.
- As it stands now, Methodist continues its losing streak against William Peace, which is up to seven games in a row.
