JUST THE FACTS

Records: Methodist 1-2, Truett McConnell 2-5
Location: TMU Tennis Center; Cleveland, Georgia
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Even though Methodist swept all double flights, the results only counted as one win for the Monarchs heading into singles.
- Junior Veva Willocks doubled up the win total for Methodist, 2-0, with her 6-1, 6-0 victory against Truett McConnell's own Emma Michna, in number five singles. Picking up her first collegiate dual win (6-1, 6-2) was Monarch freshman Wilette Rivera Morales, who played Taylor Pittman of the Bears on court six.
- In the battle between the ones, Methodist's Toni Laney beat out Ashley Johnson of Truett McConnell 6-1, 6-4. Rookie Annabelle Subirats claimed the final Monarch victory for her team after defeating the Bears' Rebekah Scott (6-4, 6-2) in No. 4 singles.
- On court two, Methodist freshman Emma Hulicki faced Katie Rose Stanfield of Truett McConnell. This exciting match-up required a third set after each competitor took one, Stanfield taking the first (6-1) then Hulicki getting the second (6-1). Ultimately it was Stanfield that secured a 6-3 win in the last set.
- In a tight No. 3 flight, 7-6 (9-7), 7-5, between Caitlin Tihanovich of the Monarchs and Lydia Clack of the Bears, it was Clack that came out on top.
