FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Playing in slippery conditions on a rainy Saturday, the Methodist women's lacrosse team slid past the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins in a 14-5 effort. The Monarchs caused a single-game program-record 28 turnovers during the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kennedy Martin gave the Monarchs an early advantage by scoring two goals within the first two minutes of play. The teams exchanged a goal each during the rest of the first quarter, giving Methodist a 3-1 lead.
- The Monarchs again scored the first two goals of the period as they took a 5-1 lead with under five minutes to go in the second quarter. After a score by the Marlins, Methodist answered when Martin found the back of the net for a third time – in this instance, just three seconds before halftime.
- Macey Blackburn and Martin produced the first two goals of the third quarter, and for the third consecutive period, the Monarchs outscored Virginia Wesleyan 3-1.
- The fourth quarter proved to be the highest scoring period of the day, with the Marlins scoring two out of three before the Monarchs ended the match with a streak of four goals.
