  • In the third inning, Haley Downes bunted her way on base, then took advantage of a pair of miscues by Bridgewater to make her way around the bases for a run. The Eagles matched Methodist with a run in the bottom of the inning, making the score 2-2.
  • In the top of the fifth, Methodist took a 3-2 lead when Alexandra Edwards batted in Laney Ayres. In the bottom of the inning, Bridgewater produced three hits and a walk, leading to three runs, which Methodist could not replicate.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2

  • With two runners on, Lynn King recorded an infield single that brought Blanchard home, giving the Monarchs a 2-0 lead.
