ELON, N.C. Competing at their second outdoor event of the season, the Monarchs of the Methodist track & field team took on the Phoenix Invitational hosted by Elon on Friday.

TRACK EVENTS
- Junior Austin Ezzell finished fourth out of 36 runners in the men's 800-meter run, nearly topping his PR with a time of 1:57.91.
- In the men's 400-meter dash, freshman Torrey Williams finished 12th out of 26 runners with a time of 51.99 seconds.
- Running the women's 400-meter hurdles for the first time collegiately, freshman Katena Morrison finished fifth out of 11 competitors with a time of 1:12.12.
- Tydrick Stewart and A'Jani Mainer both recorded PRs in the men's 200-meter dash, posting times of 23.10 and 23.20 respectively.
- Shaving over 14 seconds off his previous-best time in the men's 3,000-meter race, Alex Topoly finished in 11th out of 26 runners with a time of 9:06.99.
FIELD EVENTS
- Leaping a distance of 5.24 meters, Brandi Gardner
- Shomare Hazley earned a ninth-place finish out of 28 competitors in the men's discus throw with a toss of 35.65 meters. Then in the men's shot-put event, his throw of 11.09 meters placed him in 16th out of 25 throwers.
