RALEIGH, N.C. On Wednesday, April 10, the Methodist University women's tennis team made the trip up I-95 to face USA South Athletic Conference foe William Peace University, as the Monarchs defeated the Pacers 8-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist won the first two double matches as freshman duo Caitlin Tihanovich and Katie Sechrist had an 8-0 victory, on court three, while the other rookie tandem of Emma Hulicki and Annabelle Subirats claimed an 8-1 dub, on court two.
- The lone loss for the Monarchs came in No. 1 doubles with Toni Laney and Veva Willocks falling 5-8.
- Putting her doubles flight in the past, Willocks bounced back and won No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-0. She was one of three Methodist players to sweep their opposition, along with Subirats (No. 4) and Sechrist (No. 6).
- Tihanovich dropped just one game, between both sets, in her 6-1, 6-0 win on court three. After winning her first set 6-0, Laney had a little bit of a closer second set but still came out on top 6-3, in the battle versus No. 1s.
- Huicki, on court two, lost her opening set 6-7 (5-7) to begin her singles flight but came back and took set two 6-1. In the super tiebreaker, Hulicki was victorious 1-0 (10-2).

Methodist comes back to Fayetteville to play one of its last two regular-season home matches, starting with Brevard College on Saturday. The contest is scheduled to begin at 11 AM.
