MONTGOMERY, Ala. Methodist University men's lacrosse was on the road Saturday, April 13, and faced USA South Athletic Conference foe Huntingdon College. In grand fashion, the Monarchs defeated the Hawks 18-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In a low scoring first quarter, Methodist scored twice to take a 2-0 lead. Sophomore RJ Breeden registered the first goal followed by senior Jake Bandler.
- The Monarchs went up 9-0 heading into halftime after scoring seven goals in the second frame. Junior Cy Horner tallied four of the scores while seniors Mark Chatt, two, and Matt Bentz, one, recorded the other goals.
- Following a pair of goals by each team, Methodist increased its advantage to 16-2 as the Monarchs scored five more times before the end of the third period.
- Goals by senior Jesse Leyble and Horner closed out the scoring for Methodist, while Huntingdon recorded final score of the contest.
FAST FACTS
- With a career-high six goals, Horner led the Methodist offense followed by Chatt with four goals and three assists.
- Taking the bulk of the faceoffs for the Monarchs was freshman Graham Clausen. It resulted in him registering 17 faceoff wins and 11 groundballs, both season-highs.
