LYNCHBURG, Va. Setting numerous personal records, members of the Methodist track and field teams brought their best to the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13. The teams are showing strong signs of improvement heading into championship season.

TOP TRACK PERFORMANCES
- Brandi Gardner set PRs in the women's 100-meter and 200-meter events, posting top-10 times of 12.87 and 25.88 seconds. Treazure Rosario Watson also PR'ed in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.12 seconds.
- In the women's 400-meter race, Rosario Watson took fifth place out of 20 runners with a time of 59.83 seconds.
- In the women's 800-meter run, Patti Busch set a new PR with a time of 2:34.87, while Katena Morrison set a PR in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:10.69.
- The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Gardner, Busch, Morrison and Rosario Watson took fifth place among 11 competing teams with a season-best 4:09.62.
- Logan Wade earned a 12th place finish among 80 individuals in the men's 100-meter dash with a PR time of 10.98.
- In the men's 200-meter dash, Tydrick Stewart set a PR time of 22.43, taking 14th place out of 87 runners. Wade finished close behind in 19th with a time of 22.61.
- Torrey Williams PR'ed in the men's 400-meter event with a time of 51.11, taking 18th out of 49 competitors.
- Taking 12th out of 66 runners in the men's 1500-meter run, Alex Topoly finished in a time of 4:11.32.
- Jack Barriger completed the men's 5000-meter race in a PR time of 16:16.18, earning 13th out of 33 runners.
- The team of Steward, Wade, Williams and A'Jani Mainer took third out of 14 teams in the men's 4x100-meter relay.
TOP FIELD PERFORMANCES
- Gardener earned first place out of 13 individuals in the women's long jump contest, recording a PR distance of 5.62 meters.
- In the women's high jump, Rosario Watson took fifth place out of 13 jumpers with a PR leap of 1.45 meters.
- Rebecca McGaughnea was the top Monarch finisher in the women's shot put, discus and hammer throw, placing 13th, 14th and 19th respectively.
- Lavon Aiken took first place out of 18 competitors in the men's long jump, recording a PR distance of 6.31 meters.
- In the men's shot put, E'Manuel Herbert recorded a PR throw of 11.40 meters, taking 13th out of 27 individuals.
- Tristan Bowser earned a top-10 in the men's discus throw with a toss of 41.63 meters, taking seventh out of 32 throwers.
