HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ashley Fuentes saved the first shot of the game and following a clear by the Monarchs, Kaitlyn Coleman turned Methodist's first shot of the afternoon into a goal. Kennedy Martin was next to score, giving her team a 2–0 lead just over four minutes into the contest. Mariah Butler tied the game up with two scores for the Stormy Petrels, but Martin produced her second goal of the day with under a minute left in the quarter to put Methodist back in front.
- Oglethorpe tied the game at 3–3 with the first score of the second quarter before Maddie Hagler reclaimed the lead for the Monarchs. After two scores by the home team put Methodist down by one with 3:28 left in the half, Kennedy Martin won a draw control and took the ball straight down the field for a quick score.

Layla Wiesenfeld netted the first goal of the scoring run before a trio of scores by Coleman pulled the Monarchs within two, now down 11–9 with nearly six minutes still to play.
