FREDERICKSBURG, Va. Methodist University women's lacrosse played its last non-conference game of the regular season on Monday afternoon, an away contest at the University of Mary Washington. After doing the beat down in their previous game, the tables were turned for the Monarchs as they lost 18–2 to the Eagles at Battleground Turf.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It only took a little over a minute into the game when Mary Washington scored its first goal. From there, the Eagles rattled off six more goals in the opening quarter before the home team's score nearly doubled up in the second quarter, as they scored six goals to make it 13–0 at the half.
- In the first half, Methodist was held to just six total shots, three in each period, including two shots on goal in each.
- After Mary Washington registered its 14th goal of the contest, and lone score of the third quarter, senior Maddie Hagler was able to get the Monarchs on the scoreboard with their first goal. Hagler put her shot into the cage following a pass from fellow senior Macey Blackburn.
- The Eagles began the fourth quarter with three more scores before Kaitlyn Coleman, a graduate student, recorded the only other Methodist goal, on a free position attempt. Mary Washington also squeezed in one last goal before time expired in the game.
FAST FACTS
- This was the first–ever meeting between Methodist and Mary Washington.
- One of the few stats that the Monarchs was better than the Eagles were draw control wins, as they edged them out 12 to 11. Securing most of the DCs were Lailah Espinal and Kennedy Martin, who each had five.
