FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist University women's lacrosse returned to Monarch Stadium on Saturday after being on the road for the last three games. The Monarchs handled the Tornados of Brevard College and easily won 19–3 in USA South action.

Kennedy Martin also picked up a major USA South milestone as she established herself as the conference's all-time career leader in caused turnovers, with 122. Coming into the contest, Martin trailed the previous record holder by three, and following a first half that saw her cause four turnovers, she now owns the record herself.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first half, it was all Methodist, as the Monarchs scored 12 goals and shut out Brevard. Six Methodist players recorded a goal in the opening 30 minutes, with Mikayla Ramos leading the way with five.
- Early in the second quarter, freshman Abigail Wilson had a memorable moment when she scored a goal for the Monarchs, as that was the rookie's first goal of her collegiate career.
- Maddie Hagler, Layla Wiesenfeld, and Martin each scored a goal in the third quarter for Methodist before the Tornados registered their first goal, with Xan Hill scoring for Brevard.
- The Monarchs led 18–1 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Tornados outscored Methodist, 2–1, in the period, with Emily Denaga putting two of her shots into the cage for the scores. Kaitlyn Coleman recorded the only Monarchs goal of the fourth.

- Eight different Methodist players recorded a goal today, including seven with multi-goal performances.
- The Monarch goalies of Ashley Fuentes and Victorianna Murray each saw playing time in net. They each played a half, with Fuentes starting the game and getting credit for the victory.
- Methodist had a stingy defense as the Monarchs held Brevard to just four shots throughout the contest, all in the second half. Methodist also had 18 caused turnovers as a team, with Coleman and Martin each recording four CTs.
