ORLANDO, Fla. Wrapping up spring break play with a match against Franciscan University early Friday morning, the Methodist women's tennis team earned its first non–shutout victory of the season, edging out a 4–3 win over the Barons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist took a 1–0 lead by sweeping the doubles round. Emma Hulicki and Caitlin Tihanovich took the No. 1 match by a score of 6–1, while Annabelle Subirats and Katie Sechrist won the No. 2 match 6–2. Veva Willocks and Helen Boeshore held on in a tight contest on the third doubles court, claiming a 6–4 win.
- In the singles round, it was Methodist's No. 4, 5 and 6 who stepped up to push the Monarchs to victory. Boeshore was first to finish, dominating her opponent on the sixth court with a 6–0, 6–0 sweep.
- Willocks was next to win, defeating her opposition 6–1, 6–1 on the fifth court. On court four, Sechrist collected Methodist's match–sealing win with a 6–1 first–set victory and a 6–2 triumph in the second set.
- Hulicki, Subirats and Sechrist were defeated in the top three singles matches, clinching three points for the Barons.
