FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. The Methodist University women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, rolling past Salem College 6–1 at the Gene Clayton Tennis Center to secure their second USA South Conference win of the season on Senior Day.
Before the match, the Monarchs honored their lone senior Veva Willocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spirits set the tone early, claiming two of the three doubles matches to take a 1–0 match lead. The Monarch duo of Annabelle Subirats and Katie Sechrist made quick work at No. 2 doubles, dispatching their opponents 6-1, but then in No. 3 doubles, Veva Willocks and Madelyn Parker fell 6-4, giving each team a win. Court 1 saw a tight battle between Adley Keim and Cymone Crump of Salem, and Methodist's Emma Hulicki and Caitlin Tihanovich, with the Spirits edging out the win 7-5.
- In singles action, the Monarchs found their rhythm and never looked back. Willocks opened the run with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 5 singles, while Sechrist continued the momentum at No. 4, dropping just one game en route to a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Tihanovich added another straight-set win at No. 3, cruising 6-0, 6-2.
- Parker secured the match victory for the Monarchs at No. 6 singles, edging out a competitive 7-5, 6-4 win. Subirats provided an impressive comeback at No. 2, battling back from a set down to win in a tiebreak, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8). Hulicki capped off Methodist's dominant day in singles with a three-set triumph at No. 1 singles, rallying past Salem's Keim 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.
