FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Playing at home for the first time in over two weeks, the Methodist men's tennis team hosted Roanoke College on Sunday, earning a 6–1 victory. The Monarchs swept the doubles round and won five of six matches in singles play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist claimed the one point up for grabs in the doubles round, with wins in all three matches. Wills Belser and Harry Crokam teamed up for a 6–3 victory in the top doubles match. Matthew Hurley and Decklan Rayner swept their competition on the second court, while Drew Guarnieri and Ethan Carlyle took the third match by a score of 6–1.
- Hurley handily defeated his opponent in the No. 1 singles match (6–0, 6–1). In the No. 3 match, Crokam was victorious with set wins of 6–3 and 6–1. Ethan Carlyle was also successful, winning big in both sets (6–2, 6–1) on the fourth court.
- Christian Tihanovich earned a win in the No. 6 match. After a dominant first set for Tihanovich (6–1), the second set was a hard–fought battle that he won 7–5.
- Guarnieri played the longest match of the day, lasting nearly two full hours. After claiming the first set with a 6–2 win, Guarnieri dropped the second set 7–6 on a narrow tiebreaker that ended 7–5. With the match tied 1–1, Gaurnieri dominated the third–set tiebreaker by a score of 10–3.
