HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Methodist claimed two of the three doubles flights to take an early 1–0 lead. After the Monarchs' No. 1 team of Katie Sechrist and Caitlin Tihanovich quickly fell to Brevard's top pair, 6-0, the No. 3 tandem of Veva Willocks and Wilette Rivera Morales delivered a 6-2 win over Gracie Spangler and Abbie Zylka. Then, the No. 2 duo of Annabelle Subirats and Emma Hulicki edged out a tight match in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-2), against Jada Ore and Madison Bowen to secure the point.
  • In singles action, Madelyn Parker gave Methodist a boost with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 6 slot to push the team ahead 2–0. The Tornados claimed their first point of the match at the No. 2 spot as Bowen defeated Tihanovich 6-1, 6-3.
  • Brevard briefly tied the overall 2–2 when Sophie Trantham handed Sechrist a 6-1, 6-4 loss, but then Hulicki added a quality win at No. 1, winning 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 over Hannah Hersh, giving the Monarchs a 3–2 lead.
  • Subirats followed with a clutch performance at No. 3, taking a 6-4, 0-6, 7-5 win in a seesaw battle against Spangler, while Willocks outlasted Ore in a three-set thriller, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5, at No. 5 singles.
