ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. The Methodist University women's tennis team traveled to USA South leader North Carolina Wesleyan University on Tuesday to conclude the regular season. The Monarchs fought valiantly but fell 7–0 to the Battling Bishops at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist dropped all three doubles flights to begin the match, as the Monarchs No. 2 and No. 3 pairs each lost by a score of 7-5, while the top line fell 6-3.
- At No. 1 singles, Methodist's Caitlin Tihanovich was swiftly defeated 6-0, 6-0 by N.C. Wesleyan's top player, Andrea Elaez Miranda. Narrowly avoiding a clean set sweep was the Monarch's Katie Sechrist, who was beaten 6-0, 6-1 by Ivanna Torres at the No. 3 spot.
- Falling 6-0, 6-3 on the fifth court was the Monarch's Madelyn Parker to Ajla Selimovic of N.C. Wesleyan. Annabelle Subirats of Methodist played a tight first set in No. 2 singles, losing 6-4, but then dropped the second set 6-1 to the Battling Bishop's Bethan Fothergill.
- Wilette Rivera Morales also had a close first set, 5-7, before Melanie Guzman Gonzalez won set two 6-0, in the No. 6 position. The lone Monarch to claim a set was Veva Willocks, at the No. 4 spot, as she picked up a 6-4 win. Renata Torres got revenge in the second set, coming out on top 7-5, to force a tiebreaker set, which R. Torres won 10-7.

Methodist is projected to host the first round of the 2025 USA South Women's Tennis Tournament. The opponent, date, and time will all be determined this weekend once all league games are finished.
