FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.  While honoring nine individuals for Senior Day, the Methodist women's lacrosse team left no doubt in a 24–1 victory over Huntingdon College on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Hawks posed no challenge for Methodist, as the Monarchs racked up 12 goals in the first quarter from eight different goal scorers. Senior Macey Blackburn dished out five assists during the period. Methodist added five more goals in the second quarter, taking a 17–0 lead into halftime
• The Henry twins combined for the first score of the second half, with Jazmine Henry assisting Erika Henry. Later in the period, Jazmine scored a goal also — just the fourth goal of her career.
• Twins Allye Carter and Kaylea Carter both scored in the fourth period along with Layla Wiesenfeld and Brooke Murrell, helping push Methodist to the 23–goal margin.

FAST FACTS

• Senior Ashley Fuentes played for three quarters, keeping a clean sheet while making two saves.
• Graduate students Kaitlyn Coleman and Lailah Espinal scored two goals each. All seniors (aside from Fuentes) scored during the win, including Maddie Hagler (3), Kennedy Martin (2), Ainsley McGinn (1), Blackburn (1) and the Henry sisters (one each).

UP NEXT
The Monarchs host William Peace University on Tuesday (April 8) for a 5 p.m. contest. Methodist has outscored the Pacers 65–3 in the previous three matchups, including last year's 23–0 result.
